Christmas for Children

Christmas for Children is the heart of the Walk the Walk Foundation. Started in 2005, we started asking the local community to sponsor children for Christmas by purchasing Christmas gifts for those families who otherwise would not be able to afford them.

Thanks to many sponsors and donors - over 10,000 children have been sponsored for Christmas over the past 18 years.

Buy a bike or helmet.

Once we have received the children's information we will know how many bikes and what size and gender we need. If you are interested in buying a bike or helmet, please email us at walk@wtwf.org.
How can you help?

There are a lot of different ways to get involved with Christmas for Children. Whether you are a company, a family, a group of friends, or an individual – there is something for everyone. You can sponsor a child/ family, buy a bike and helmet, buy gift cards, give a monetary donation or purchase a book. Fill out our Volunteer Form to get started!
How do we get the kids information?

We receive our children's names from the Department of Social Services or from an organization that provides social services. The parents or foster-care providers fill out forms so we know the needs or desires of the kids. Currently, we provide Christmas for children in need in Anne Arundel County, Maryland.
What makes us different?

Walk the Walk also gives each family a thank you card and a pre-stamped envelope to return to the foundation who we in turn send it to the families sponsor. This is a great way to show the sponsors the families gratitude. View photos from our 2021 Gallery.

The Gift of Reading

We provide each family with a bag filled with books for each child to share the true meaning of Christmas with them.
