OUR PARTNERS

Walk the Walk would not be successful with out partnering with others. We love working with others in the community who are looking to give back. During our programs we work with local businesses, churches, schools, and organizations to help make a difference. Creating a “Cycle of Giving,” is one of our greatest priorities.

As a church, we are striving to become the kind of people that reflect Jesus. That the people of our neighborhoods, city, region and world might thrive with the hope of the gospel.

Giving Back

Each Christmas Eve for over 30 years, Giving Back, Linda’s Legacy’s volunteers have delivered life-saving essentials and food to homeless men, women, and children in Baltimore, Washington DC and Anne Arundel County. What was started by Linda Greenberg as a trunk-load and a prayer has grown into a massive relief effort that dozens of shelters and hundreds of “street-homeless” benefit from.

While much of our goods are delivered to support 25+ homeless shelters in Baltimore City, Washington DC, and Anne Arundel County, there is a separate component of the drive that focuses directly on the streets of Baltimore.

Over the past several years Giving Back has developed a program to provide backpacks, coats and boots to the people directly on the streets. Each backpack will include a heavy duty hooded sweatshirt, thermal underwear (top and bottom), a hat, warm gloves, and a warm pair of socks.

Our mission is three equal parts, one, to bring this life-saving gear to the folks that need it. Equally important, though, is to educate the community on the plight of homelessness, and also equally important it is to show the value of volunteering to the young people of the county, to show them that it can be fun, rewarding, and powerful to put someone else’s needs before your own. The enormous amount of volunteers, both families with younger children and our High School and College age youth cannot be understated. We are as successful as we are because of this wonderful segment of our population. It is a joy and an honor to work side by side with tomorrow’s leaders!

Finally, I would be remiss to not mention our founder, Linda Greenberg, who flies back from Florida each year to lead and participate in our drive. She is a constant inspiration to us all. Her drive and vision have changed all of us in so many ways, and we are grateful.

Kits for Kidz

Nearly 31 million children in the United States currently live in low-income families. This basically means 2 out of every 5 children in our country live with families that struggle to provide even the most basic materials for their children. Research is clear that children will struggle in school if they do not have the necessary tools and supplies to be successful.
The goal of the Kits for Kidztm program is to provide the non-profit community a reliable and affordable alternative to purchase essential products for the disadvantaged children in their care.

Maple View Church

This is the Church we originally started with in Mercer County West Virginia.

Maple View Church of Christ is a community of believers in God who look to the Bible for sole authority and instruction on how to live life with God, with His church, and with the community around us. (Acts2:42-47) Our Vision is to live out Colossians 3:10 “If you are in Christ you are being Transformed and Renewed into His image.” We don’t look to traditions, reason, or the culture of the day as our authority, but understand that these things are the context in which we teach and live out the authority and teaching of biblical truth. Our model for church is found in the book of Acts where the history of the first church is documented.
